Disequilibrium

This is a series of gestural figurative sculptures showing people stumbling, tripping, lurching, and generally losing their balance.  Each is imbued with a sense of the motion of starting to fall, beyond any hope of recovery.  I tried with this series of pieces to create figures that appear to be loosely and roughly painted in midair.  They were made by creating “brushstrokes” of wax, which were then assembled into a figure, cast in aluminum, and painted with acrylic paints.
