Men

This group of pieces deals with aging, disease, and self-destructive behavior, all using the image of the male figure.  My ideas for sculptures frequently first take form as drawings, followed by the making of a maquette.  This is very helpful for working out gesture and stance in actual, versus pictorial, space.  The maquette was modeled directly in wax and then cast in aluminum.  The larger pieces were modeled in clay, cast in polyurethane, and painted with acrylic paints.
